Saddam executed
Too many Americans died for something that Iraq should have done for itself.
A strange case of missing FBI files
Lots of possible explanations for these leak investigation files to go missing.
CompUSA goes Spanglish
One Spanish listing
amidst the other English language listings: Never have seen that.

It's a wonderful life
We can say that even as we walk through the valley of Hinnom.
Via Romenesko- McCaw should obey the law
About the finest example of what is wrong with newspaper ownership today: Way past fostering debate nor even allowing debate, an individual's benign expression is cause to draw a lawyer.
Every citizen should obey the law. Not just the black letter law or the law that passes a lawyer's laugh test but the law of the land that says a person has a right to an opinion about what affects their community. McCaw must have one hell of an inferiority complex if a shop window is considered a threat against the claxon of her printing press.
Edwards up on his game
We like Edwards and, with some reservations, his strong ties to labor unions.
Emanuel to handle Dem's message and response
For the party as a whole, a positive move; this is, however, more telling in the struggle within the party.
Via Romenesko: Journalists, officials mistake caretaker role for entitlement
For the sake of emerging citizen journalism and a much needed realignment of the journalism profession, somebody should be telling these Maricopa County officials that public information meetings should be open to all citizens.
We in the press have significant rights of access to government only because we exercise those privileges in the name of the citizens. We have acted only as caretakers of the right to access and it is not an entitlement granted for membership in nor apprenticeship to some guild.

The money shot:
Just as many loonies on the left but without the political clout of those on the right.
Kinda speaks for itself.
Rock the digital dreidel and tip the tech tree
The tech sellers don't seem at all nervous this holiday season. All the fanfare of Black Friday has faded along with the deep discounts merchants had made.
The evolutionary change to multi-core based PC's together with the wait for Vista had already put downward pressure on mainstream PC pricing. The price of LCD screens had also been falling. These slides have halted for the holidays.
Other than what appears to be some minor inflationary pressures on system memory pricing, the increases (that we anticipate) have not begun to appear. Chip manufacturers are reportedly expanding their capacity in anticipation of demand caused by the requirements of Vista.
Update: It should be noted that online auction prices for PC's have been trending up with the holiday demand.
