Rumsfeld replaced
Despite Shrub's protestations, this was in the cards. It speaks to the administration's pig-headed nature that this move was not made before the election. Rumsfeld was the front man on too many questionable decisions and represented the numerous missteps that needlessly jeopardized our fighting forces. You might have to go with the force you have but then you build the force you need.
