How the new-fangled thing will become the same ol' thing
When I first posted on the
Tonganoxie Mirror it was after they had gotten some notice from Poynter
. Like I said, it was a little town and I wondered about the mechanism/business model behind its web presence. Well it was as I suspected. It didn't take much nosin' around at the site to see that it was heavily dependent upon the nearby LJWorld.
I've posted recently on the Lawrence paper (a local media conglomerate) and that despite some cutting-edge work for them by Adrian Holovaty, I couldn't see them making any change in their establishment/machine stance.
This looks like media consolidation to me. Same ol' thing.
