We have been following CJR's continuing work on the subject. This video was more of the same high quality insights into a singularly tough task: Thanks to questions one and two from the audience we got a look at two very unflattering aspects of journalism's work on the war.
Recently someone in our circle of acquaintances was killed in Iraq. There were eulogies speaking of heroism and duty that could be said to contain elements of truth. But none of the eulogies spoke to a much darker and less altruistic truth that lay behind this death.
We have, as of yet, found it impossible to write that story.
